The setting affects the mood in my story because they don't live in a great neighborhood, and there are gangs and drugs all over the place. One piece of evidence is “Don’t hang out with this idiot, he can’t even speak!” and then he beat the main character, Finely, up. If they lived in a rich suburb, then they wouldn’t get made fun of all the time, and Finley wouldn’t have gotten beat up, in their neighborhood and at school. The mood is kind of dull at some points because the neighborhood isn’t clean and there’s bullies everywhere. Those are the parts of the book when it gets really dull and dark.
Dull and dark...doesn't sound very exciting...is the book interesting?
